Increase in Travel Authorisation Fee
Written by Editor on 19th January 2026
Here’s What You Need to Know About the Travel Authorisation Fee Increase
Everyone entering Seychelles including locals, expats and tourists is required to complete the digital Travel Authorisation. Although, the fee applies only to foreign visitors.
So, if you’re getting ready for your dream trip to Seychelles, there’s a small update you’ll want to be aware of before you travel.
The cost of Seychelles’ mandatory Travel Authorisation (TA) has recently increased. While it’s not a huge jump, it’s something to factor into your travel planning, especially if you’re travelling as a family or group.
So, what’s changed?
The Travel Authorisation used to cost a flat EUR 10 per person. Recent applications now show a total fee of EUR 12.06 per traveller, due to a few additional charges added during the online application process.
Here’s how the new total breaks down:
- EUR 10.00 – Travel Authorisation enrolment fee
- EUR 1.57 – Additional government fees & charges
- EUR 0.49 – Bank processing fee
👉 Total: EUR 12.06 per person
What is the Travel Authorisation?
All visitors to Seychelles must apply for a Travel Authorisation before arrival. It’s a simple online process where you submit your travel details, accommodation information and supporting documents ahead of your trip. Once approved, you’re cleared to enter the country.
Why are people talking about this?
The increase has sparked discussion within the tourism industry, mainly because the extra charges were introduced without a public announcement.
Seychelles’ Minister for Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation, Veronique Laporte, has raised concerns about the change, noting that clear communication around entry costs is important particularly as travellers often compare destinations carefully when planning their holidays.
Tourism plays a vital role in Seychelles’ economy, and industry stakeholders say even small entry-related costs are closely watched by travellers, especially in competitive regional markets.
Will this affect your trip?
For most, the increase is unlikely to change travel plans but it’s still good to know upfront so there are no surprises when applying.
Our advice is simple:
- Apply for your Travel Authorisation at least 48hrs before your travel
- Budget EUR 12.06 per person
- Always use the official Seychelles Travel Authorisation platform
Seychelles remains one of the world’s most beautiful and welcoming destinations, and the Travel Authorisation is still a quick and straightforward step in your journey.
