Stamp & Postcard Contest

Families Invited to Design History for Seychelles’ 50th Independence

As Seychelles approaches its landmark 50th Independence anniversary in 2026, families across the islands are being called to take part in a truly special and creative celebration.

The National Day Committee, in collaboration with Seychelles Postal Services, has launched the Independence Golden Jubilee Stamp & Postcard Competition…an inspiring initiative that invites Seychellois families to design commemorative stamps or postcards that capture the spirit of the nation.

Centered around the powerful theme “Nou Pep, Nou Lidantite, Nou Desten” (Our People, Our Identity, Our Destiny), the competition encourages participants to reflect on Seychelles’ journey over the past five decades. From unity and resilience to cultural pride and future aspirations, families are free to express what being Seychellois means to them through art, colour, and imagination.

A Competition for the Whole Family

This unique initiative is open exclusively to families, making it a perfect opportunity for generations to come together, whether it’s grandparents sharing stories, parents guiding ideas, or children bringing drawings to life. It’s not just about the final design, but the shared experience of creativity and connection.

From Home Creations to National Symbols

Winning entries won’t just earn prizes, they may also become part of Seychelles’ official commemorative stamp or postcard collections. This means your family’s design could travel far beyond our shores, becoming a lasting symbol of the Golden Jubilee and a piece of national history.

How to Take Part

Participants can submit:

  • A stamp design (single or as part of a series)
  • A postcard design

All entries should reflect the jubilee theme and showcase the creativity and identity of Seychelles.

Entry forms and full guidelines can be downloaded at:

Completed entries should be submitted via email to:

Key Date to Remember

  • Deadline: 30th April 2026

As part of a wider calendar of Golden Jubilee activities marking independence since June 29, 1976, this competition adds a personal and creative touch to national celebrations—bringing families together while building a shared legacy.

So gather your loved ones, pick up your pencils, and let your creativity shine.

Be creative. Be proud. Be part of history.
