Home Beautification Competition – Brighten Your Home, Celebrate Seychelles at 50

Seychelles Invites Residents to Shine in Home Beautification Competition for 50th Independence Anniversary

As Seychelles prepares to celebrate a historic milestone, 50 years of Independence in 2026, there’s a new and exciting way for residents to take part in the festivities… by transforming their own living spaces into vibrant showcases of national pride.

The National Day Celebrations Committee has officially launched the Home Beautification Competition, a friendly, community-driven initiative that encourages households across the islands to enhance their surroundings. Whether it’s a splash of tropical colour on a balcony or a carefully designed garden oasis, every effort contributes to a more beautiful and united Seychelles.

Held under the Golden Jubilee theme “Nou Pep, Nou Lidantite, Nou Desten” (Our People, Our Identity, Our Destiny), the competition celebrates not just aesthetics, but identity, creativity, and environmental care. Participants are invited to reflect the spirit of Seychelles through landscaping, sustainable practices, and designs that highlight the islands’ rich natural beauty.

A Category for Everyone

The competition is open to all, with four accessible categories:

  • Balcony
  • Small Garden
  • Medium Garden
  • Large Garden

This means anyone, from apartment dwellers to homeowners with spacious yards, can get involved and make a difference in their own way.

More Than Just a Competition

Beyond prizes and recognition, the initiative aims to inspire a sense of togetherness and pride. It’s an opportunity for neighbours to motivate one another, for communities to grow closer, and for the nation to collectively prepare for a landmark celebration.

Each garden, pathway, and planted pot becomes part of a larger story…one of unity, heritage, and love for the environment.

How to Take Part

Joining is simple:

  • Download an entry form from www.gov.sc
  • Or collect a physical form from the National Day Secretariat at Roche Caiman

The deadline for entries is 30th April 2026, so participants are encouraged to start planning early.

As Seychelles counts down to June 29, 2026, this initiative offers a meaningful way for citizens to contribute to the Golden Jubilee celebrations. It’s not just about beautifying homes, it’s about shaping the look and feel of the nation during a moment in history.

Beautify your home. Beautify our nation. Be part of history.
