Discover Seychelles Through Art at Festival Kreol 2026
If you’re spending time in Victoria this October, why not pop into the National Gallery and discover Seychelles through the eyes of its artists?
Nou Pep, Nou Lidantite, Nou Desten (Our People, Our Identity, Our Destiny) brings together more than 50 artists for a special exhibition running from 10–31 October 2026, as part of Festival Kreol. You don’t need to know much about art to enjoy this exhibition… bring your curiosity and take a look at the stories, culture and creativity that make Seychelles special.
A Celebration of 50 Years of Independence
As Seychelles celebrates 50 years of Independence, the exhibition takes a thoughtful look at the country’s journey, where we’ve come from, who we are today, and what we hope to pass on to future generations.
Each artist offers their own perspective on our people, traditions, cultural heritage and changing national identity. Together, their work invites us to look back, appreciate the present and consider what comes next. It’s a chance to discover different interpretations of the Seychelles story, and perhaps recognise a little of your own story along the way.
Our People, Our Identity, Our Destiny
What does being Seychellois mean to you? It might be the traditions you grew up with, the languages you speak, family memories or the everyday moments that make island life familiar.
These are the kinds of connections the exhibition encourages visitors to explore. Through art, it opens up conversations about the identity we share and how it continues to evolve.
As Mrs Amanda Bernstein, Minister for Tourism and Culture and Chairperson of the Festival Kreol Committee, explains, culture is more than something we inherit. It grows and changes with us, shaping how we see ourselves and the future we imagine.
Discover the Artists
The exhibition brings together a wide range of creative voices, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy different styles and perspectives in one place.
Artists featured in the catalogue include Egbert Marday, Lorna Ah-Kong, Adrian Rignace, Christine Chetty Payet, George Camille, Robert Alexis, Xavier Rosalie, Valerie Lesperance and Anne-Marie Price, alongside many others.
Meet the creative minds behind the exhibition! 🎨 Explore the catalogue and discover all the featured artists and their work.
Take your time exploring the works. You might find a familiar scene, a detail that brings back a memory or an artwork that makes you pause and think. It’s also a lovely opportunity to appreciate and support Seychelles’ local art community.

Make It Part of Your Festival Kreol Plans
Between the music, food and cultural celebrations happening this October, a visit to the gallery offers a quieter way to connect with the spirit of Festival Kreol. For residents, it’s an opportunity to see familiar aspects of Seychelles through a fresh perspective. For visitors, it’s a chance to discover more about the people and culture behind the islands.
Add it to your Victoria plans and see what catches your eye.
