Round Table Seychelles – A Legacy of Fellowship, Service & Brotherhood
Ever been to the Regatta at Beau Vallon and wondered who’s actually behind all that fun, music, and madness? Well, meet the crew that makes it all happen – the Round Table Seychelles!
These guys aren’t just about parties and beach games (though they do that very well), they’re a group of men who’ve been quietly shaping Seychelles’ biggest community events for over 50 years.
It all started way back in 1973…
a Handful of young guys with big ideas and an even bigger sense of adventure. Among them were Serge Pool and Mike Dunford, who brought the Round Table spirit from Kenya to Seychelles. They called themselves Table 22 of ARTEA (fancy name, right?), and their mission was simple — Adopt, Adapt, Improve.
Before long, they came up with an idea that would become a national tradition… the Beau Vallon Regatta.
What started as a small sailing competition turned into the country’s most-loved beach festival, complete with races, music, and that famous “Greasy Pole” challenge (if you know, you know).
It’s not just fun and games
Here’s the thing people sometimes miss, behind all the laughter, beer tents, and beach games, Round Table Seychelles is serious about giving back.
Every Regatta helps raise funds for community projects across the islands, from upgrading children’s homes to putting up new school facilities, building water stations, and even supporting awareness drives with Ladies Circle Seychelles. This year, Regatta is turning up the vibes as part of Festival Kreol, and it’s all for a great cause, raising funds to support elderly homes across Seychelles.
Basically, they make sure all that fun turns into something good for everyone.
The Brotherhood Behind the Table
This year’s line-up is a solid mix of new energy and familiar faces.
- Alex Henderson – The man at the helm, President of Round Table Seychelles.
- Christopher Nicette – Chairman of Round Table Seychelles 2
- Andrew Palmyre – The powerhouse behind Regatta 2025.
- Alex Freminot – The mastermind from Regatta Soundz 2024.
- Christophe Gabriel – The guy who makes sure community service stays front and center.
- Shantilal Dhanjee – A past member, always part of the family.
- Darrel Benoit – The man who once chaired the entire Africa, Middle East & Indian Ocean region (no small feat!).
- Raja Ramani – President of the 41er Club, keeping the alumni spirit alive.
- Brian Chanty-Seng – Another proud 41er who’s always part of the action.
Together, they’re carrying the Round Table flame into 2025, a mix of hard work, friendship, and a shared love for Seychelles.
The Emblem & the Legend
You’ve probably seen their logo, that round design with rays shooting out from the center.
Ever wondered where it comes from? Well, it’s inspired by King Arthur’s Round Table, the legendary one hanging in the Great Hall of Winchester Castle in England.
The idea is that everyone sits as equals, no head, no hierarchy – just teamwork, unity, and service. Kinda cool, right?

50 Years Later, Still Making Waves
In 2023, Round Table Seychelles celebrated its Golden Jubilee, that’s five decades of fellowship, service, and community vibes.
And the best part? They’re just getting started.
With Regatta 2025 already in motion, expect big things… more action, more impact, and of course, that unbeatable Beau Vallon energy.
So next weekend when you’re at the Regatta, cheering at the beach or dancing at locals sounds, just remember… behind it all is a group of legends who’ve been keeping this island tradition alive for half a century.
Here’s to the men of the Table – proving year after year that good times and good deeds really do go hand in hand.
Let the countdown begin!
Special thank you to all sponsors this year!!!
