TRASS – Restoring Seychelles One Tree at a Time
The Terrestrial Restoration Action Society of Seychelles (TRASS) is a local NGO dedicated to restoring native forests on the islands of Seychelles, particularly Praslin. Through tree planting, habitat restoration, and education, TRASS plays a vital role in protecting the island’s unique biodiversity.
🌱 What TRASS Does

Reforestation Projects
TRASS plants thousands of native trees each year, focusing on degraded areas to bring back indigenous ecosystems. -
Community Involvement
Volunteers, schools, and visitors are invited to take part in restoration efforts, making conservation a community movement. -
Environmental Education
TRASS runs awareness campaigns and events to teach locals and tourists about Seychelles’ fragile environment and how to protect it.
📍 Visit the TRASS Nursery
Located on Praslin, the TRASS native plant nursery is open to the public. You can learn about endemic plant species and even adopt a tree.
