More About Shenseea

Born on October 1, 1996, Chinsea Linda Lee, professionally known as Shenseea (/ʃɛnˌsiːə/), is a Jamaican singer and songwriter. She gained widespread recognition for her featured appearance alongside Roddy Ricch on Kanye West’s 2021 track “Pure Souls,” which made its mark on the Billboard Hot 100. Her association with West’s album “Donda” earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Album of the Year at the 64th Grammy Awards. Shenseea signed with Interscope Records to drop her debut studio album titled “Alpha” in 2022, which soared to number two on the Top Reggae Albums chart and number three on the Heatseekers chart. Among her notable achievements are a NAACP Image Award and a MOBO Award.

Shenseea hails from Jamaica, born to a Jamaican mother and a father of Korean descent, with whom she has grown distant. After graduating from Mona High School, she pursued studies in Entertainment Management at Excelsior Community College (Exed) in Kingston. Unfortunately, financial challenges led her to discontinue her education. Despite the setbacks, her dream of becoming a singer persisted from a tender age.
