Introducing La Sirène

A Nautical Retreat at Anse Major by Marie Antoinette Restaurants

A Dream Anchored in Friendship & the Ocean

Meet Jessica Fonseka and KC Rose—best friends for over 20 years—who have transformed their shared dream into an unforgettable coastal experience in Seychelles. Welcome to La Sirène, a vibrant spot tucked along the scenic Anse Major trail, where community, nature, and flavor come together.

More than just a bar and grill, La Sirène is an awesome island adventure that blends guided snorkeling tours, sustainable dining, and island culture—all in one incredible spot.

KC explained that creating a place like this had always been their dream, and when the opportunity finally came along, it felt like destiny.

What Makes La Sirène So Special?

Set against the backdrop of Anse Major’s pristine coastline, La Sirène offers an experience for all the senses. The space was created as a haven to relax, unwind, and reconnect with nature. From the moment you arrive, you’re surrounded by the calming blend of jungle and ocean, with fruit trees, rock carvings, and even a natural vanilla garden adding to the charm.

Guests can take part in free guided snorkeling tours led by Jessica, a seasoned dive instructor, who shares her passion for marine ecosystems while helping visitors understand the importance of protecting our oceans. Meanwhile, KC brings warmth and soul to the table, drawing from years in the hospitality world and her love for bold, Creole-inspired flavors.

La Sirène isn’t just about food or tours—it’s about storytelling, sustainability, and celebrating the beauty of Seychelles in its purest form.

The Food: Local, Fresh, and Full of Flavor

At La Sirène, the food reflects the island’s bounty and a commitment to sourcing locally. The menu changes depending on the season and availability of ingredients, but it always includes vibrant dishes packed with tropical flavors. You’ll find freshly caught fish, grilled seafood platters, vibrant fruit bowls, refreshing homemade juices, and colorful salads made with herbs grown nearby.

On Sundays, the team prepares an island-style barbecue, complete with marinated meats and Creole favorites. Vegan and plant-based options are available as well, ensuring everyone can enjoy the feast. Every dish is made with care and creativity, with sustainability at the forefront—plastic use is avoided, and even décor pieces have been upcycled from items found while snorkeling or washed ashore.

The drinks menu is just as thoughtfully curated. One standout is the coconut margarita—a refreshingly tropical twist on the classic, it’s creamy, cool, and perfectly sipped with your toes in the sand. It’s quickly becoming a guest favorite and captures the laid-back spirit of the place in every glass.

Getting There Is Part of the Magic

The journey to La Sirène is as memorable as the destination itself. You can hike along the breathtaking Anse Major trail, a route that winds through forest and along the coastline with stunning views, or arrive by sea with the help of local boat operator Myo Yenny, who has been navigating these waters for over two decades.

Whichever way you choose, the arrival is unforgettable. The space feels tucked away from the world—blissfully off-grid, with no signal, just sea breeze, sunshine, and the gentle hum of nature.

Community, Conservation & Connection

Before opening their doors, Jessica and KC made sure to engage with local stakeholders and authorities, including Seychelles Parks and Gardens and the team at Silhouette Island’s environmental research. Their mission was clear: to create a space that not only offers great food and good vibes, but also gives back—to nature, to community, and to visitors who want to experience Seychelles meaningfully.

Through their guided tours and commitment to eco-conscious living, La Sirène doubles as an educational hub. Guests not only get to see the marine world up close, but also learn how to protect it. Their “nothing gets thrown away” policy includes repurposing old items and building furniture from salvaged wood and materials found during beach cleanups.

The result is a space that feels personal, purposeful, and rooted in the values of the islands.

What to Know Before You Go

The bar is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM, while the grill operates from Tuesday to Sunday between 12 PM and 4 PM. The team also welcomes private bookings for groups, birthdays, or sunset celebrations—just be sure to book ahead. The setting is perfect for hikers looking for a rewarding rest stop, couples seeking a quiet meal in nature, or anyone looking to escape the noise and truly unwind.
