Ever wondered how a mud crab could inspire a fashion collection? That’s where the story of TYANGOMON begins… right here in Seychelles.

On Saturday, 21 November 2026, Darren Esther brings that inspiration to the runway with TYANGOMON, a fashion experience by Atelier Extra. Taking place in Victoria, Mahé, from 6:00 PM, the evening brings together clothing, music and storytelling, giving you a closer look at the creativity behind the collection.

It All Started with Nature

The inspiration behind TYANGOMON comes from the mud crabs of Praslin Island. Look closely at their shells, colours and patterns, and you can start to see where a designer might find ideas for textures, shapes and striking silhouettes.

But what interested Darren goes beyond how these creatures look. Mud crabs can regrow lost limbs, an ability that inspired the collection’s themes of resilience, renewal and transformation. That idea forms the starting point for a collection conceived around 32 looks, exploring how strength, change and new beginnings can be expressed through clothing.

The creative direction also takes its cues from the islands themselves. Ocean blues and greens sit alongside earthy browns and sandy tones, connecting the designs to the natural surroundings that inspired them. Sustainability and environmental awareness are part of that vision too, encouraging us to think about the relationship between what we wear and the world around us.

So, What Can You Expect on the Night?

TYANGOMON is Darren’s opportunity to share the collection as it was meant to be experienced… worn, moving and brought to life under the stage lights. The evening unfolds in three parts, taking you from a relaxed welcome through the runway showcase and into time to chat afterwards.

First, settle in and enjoy the welcome.

You’ll arrive to warm hospitality, a red carpet moment and a welcome cocktail, a chance to get comfortable and ease into the evening before the show begins.

Then, watch the story take shape.

Music opens the showcase before the first collection segment makes its entrance. Each look has its own moment on the catwalk, giving you time to appreciate the details, craftsmanship and movement of the garments. Partway through, the MC takes you behind the designs, sharing the ideas, textures and inspiration that shaped the collection. A live song performance continues the mood, connecting the story you’ve heard with what you’ve seen on the runway.

Finally, see it all come together.

The second collection segment leads into a final catwalk, bringing the pieces together for the closing showcase. A final song performance rounds off the show, followed by an evening of snacks, refreshments and conversation. It’s a chance to enjoy local creativity, discover the thinking behind the clothes and share the experience with others who appreciate fashion, music and a good story.
