Seychelles Nature Trail 2027: A Little Less Beach, a Lot More Adventure!

If your idea of a great Saturday involves fresh air, a challenge and views worth working for, here’s a date for your diary. The Seychelles Nature Trail returns on Saturday 22 May 2027, and registrations for its fourth edition are now open!

Taking runners across 22 kilometres of Mahé’s spectacular landscapes, this is your chance to swap the usual coastal drive for an adventure through tropical forest, over granite trails and into the heart of Morne Seychellois National Park. You’ll need your running shoes for this one. The flip-flops can wait until afterwards.

22 kilometres of Seychelles, with a different perspective

There’s something special about exploring Seychelles on foot. Away from the roadside viewpoints and familiar beach stops, the island reveals forest paths, rugged slopes and ocean views that make you appreciate just how much there is to discover.

The 2027 course starts at Constance Ephelia and finishes at Grand Anse, taking participants through a landscape of tropical greenery, granite and mountain trails. With 1,210 metres of elevation gain, those views come with a proper workout.

Expect some “look at that view!” moments, probably mixed with a few “are we still going uphill?” ones.

Beautiful scenery. A proper challenge.

Don’t let the postcard setting fool you into thinking this is a gentle Saturday stroll. Sustained climbs and technical terrain make the Seychelles Nature Trail a test of endurance, concentration and determination.

For regular trail runners, it’s an opportunity to take on a rewarding island course. If you’re considering your first trail race, there’s time to prepare, build your confidence and get familiar with the demands of running off-road. The scenery might inspire you to enter, but putting in the training will help you enjoy the experience when race day arrives.

Bring your supporters along

The day’s celebrations will continue beyond the finish line, with a Family Fun Day planned at Grand Anse playing field. Celebrating Creole heritage and giving local businesses an opportunity to showcase their products, it’s another reason to bring family and friends along. They can cheer you through the finish, then enjoy the occasion with you.

Ready to take your next adventure off-road?

For residents, this is a chance to experience another side of your island home. For visitors, it’s a memorable reason to plan a Seychelles trip around something a little more adventurous. Either way, there’s a finish line at Grand Anse with your name on it… if you’re ready to take on the challenge!
