Seychelles Tourism 2025
Record Arrivals, New Adventures & Authentic Island Charm
Tourism in Seychelles is riding a wave of success in 2025! In just the first seven months of the year, the islands welcomed over 223,000 visitors, a 10.6% jump compared to last year, putting Seychelles on track for a record-breaking year.
The buzz is everywhere, from the lively streets of Victoria to the quiet shores of La Digue, more travellers are discovering what makes Seychelles so unique. And they’re staying longer too, with nearly 10 nights on average, and some even returning year after year (we see you, Germans and UAE visitors).
Who’s Visiting?
Europe still leads the pack with strong arrivals from Germany and France, while India, China, and the UAE are making their mark as rising stars. Thanks to new air routes, like Abu Dhabi’s resumed flights, Discover Airlines’ Frankfurt connection, and charter flights from Asia, Seychelles is now more connected than ever.
Cruise tourism is also setting sail for growth, with a new Cruise Tourism Strategy balancing adventure with sustainability.
Beyond Sun & Sand
While Seychelles is famous for turquoise waters and powdery beaches, 2025 is all about showing travellers the authentic Seychellois experience. Think….
Regatta 2025– Seychelles’ most beloved community event, blending sports, food stalls, live music, and the legendary Regatta Lottery (with cars, holidays, and amazing prizes up for grabs!). It’s the perfect way for visitors to soak up local vibes while joining in the island fun.
Seychelles Nature Trail & Seychelles Challenge – eco-adventures that mix fitness with breathtaking scenery.
Kreol Festival’s 40th Edition – celebrating the heart of Creole culture with food, dance, and music.
Community-based stays – charming guesthouses and locally run villas offering a taste of island life.
Spotlight on Small Stays
Not every visitor is choosing the big hotels. A growing number are booking with small, locally owned establishments, where the charm is all about warm Seychellois hospitality and authentic experiences.
The Inside Seychelles Directory makes it easier for travellers to discover these hidden gems, from cozy guesthouses on Praslin to family-run self-catering spots on Mahé.
As Peter Sinon, chairman of the Seychelles Small Hotels & Establishments Association, puts it:
“Visitors don’t just want a room; they want an experience. That’s where our local establishments shine.”
The Bigger Picture
With tourism earnings already topping USD 620 million between January and July, Seychelles is showing that travel is back in full force. But more importantly, the focus now is on sustainability, inclusivity, and authentic island experiences, ensuring tourism success benefits everyone, from fishermen to family-run B&Bs.
Whether you’re here for the beaches, the culture, or the adventure, Seychelles 2025 is shaping up to be a year where every visitor finds their own island story.
